The children in Year 2 are learning to code using espresso coding. The lessons are providing a very good introduction and use all the right terminology – they don’t know it, but they’re learning object-oriented programming.
This week they had to program a helicopter to move up, down, left, right and hover. While I was listening in, I made my own Processing version. Not as nice graphics as theirs, but the functionality is there. Cursor keys to move, and spacebar to stop and hover. (You need to click on it first so that the computer knows what you’re looking at!)
