sepia and a mandala

I’m learning how to tangle by meandering through the book “One zentangle a day”

and today’s exercise is to draw a sepia tile. Luckily I have a brown that’s close enough to sepia.
Here’s the string (help yourself but please credit me)

which I thought looked like paisley, so here’s the finished tangle.

And a new book arrived this afternoon

so I’ve started to meander through this one too. Here’s my attempt at the first exercise – I chose the rather mechanical tangles (patterns).

I don’t know why, it makes me think of a tax disc!
