things are hotting up in the greenhouse

I left a thermometer in the greenhouse yesterday, propped up in the window so that I could read it from the house, and this is what it showed this morning – yikes! Apparently, the heat destroyed the batteries, so the lump has sorted out a remote monitoring system.

I’ve put some spuds out to chit.

These are international kidney which, I think, are also known as Jersey royal if they’re grown there.
