challenges – and some knitting

Diva#169 was to use circles for the string – right up my alley! From the centre the tangles are forget-me-not, poke leaf, pea-pop, various gears and screw.

This week’s tackle-it-Tuesday will be the letter N; I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. Here are nuts, nails and nekton.

Joey#10 was to draw the number 10 and to use only tangles with circles and straight lines. Here are circut, laces, croon and c-chain. I learnt that my pens have water-soluble ink!

StringThing#42 was to monotangle with knightsbridge – not one of my favourites. Here’s two attempts; I’m not particularly pleased with either. For the first, I learnt that it’s tricky to tangle while watching Scandi-dramas, and I gave up with it. 🙁

And, as it’s half-term, I have time to do other things, so have started a mystery knit-along (we just know that it’s a shawl). This one is called Birds of a feather and I’m using greys as a surprise for my sister-out-law. It had a gruesomely long cast on of just shy of 700 stitches. Here’s a shot of a corner.

You have been a busy lady. I love all of your tangling, especially those gears and the screws on the first one, and I can’t wait to see the finished shawl.

What a wonderful blog and really fantastic zentangles!

I love your tile for the Diva challenge! I like the other ones too. I’ll have to watch the progress on your shawl, as a fellow knitter (just finished a pair of socks myself)…

You have been so very busy and it’s all beautiful.

I especially loke the mechanic patterns. They make for a nice change, but also a great complement to pea pods, apparently 🙂

What a surprising contrast in your first tile: mechanical and organic patterns, They go great together.

  7. I have to agree with the others that the combination of organic patterns with the mechancial ones is very clever and pleasing. I also love the “N” tile with the nails and all. Fun!

Like your combination of the organic and steam punk look. They do go well together. that is an interesting stitch in the corner. I always wonder who comes up with those things.

Organics and tech – all while keeping the circle motif. Great take on the theme!

Great work, Sal!! Really like your circle challenge entry at the top of the page – so soft and gentle. And love the ‘nails and nuts’ in the ‘N’ entry too – never thought of that and they work really well as tangles! It’s really interesting to see your two versions of Knightsbridge – and why concentration is a key part of Zentangle. The second one is really cool!
Beautiful knitting too. You have been so busy!
    Axxx

your first three drawings have quite the steam punk leaning. ONe of my online friends is knitting the same challenge, though she has had to pull it out twice. It looks very nice so far.
