dyeing for new socks

I whipped up a blank on the machine

and dyed it orange and green.

The colours weren’t very strong once they’d dried, so I overdyed them with darker versions.

The idea is that one sock goes from orange to green and the other goes from green to orange; we’ll see how it works out!

Lovely color combination – but I don’t understand how you did it, because the first pics are with fabric? And the last one is the yarn?

I knit the yarn into a rectangle (called a blank) on my knitting machine. Paint the blank with dye and then unravel it back to balls of yarn.

  6. Wow, this is amazing! Very creative. Nice way to use and reuse and recycle. Love the vibrant colors., especially that second green, the way it went from a shade of olive to a very distinct green. Nicely done, found you on ABC Wednesday! Amy

  7. I like the colors, Someone is going to be very happy wearing your handknitted socks. Lucky person.
