Wouldn’t usually record this, but a discussion on The Clue Clinic website about the word TINK — undo a row of knitting one stitch at a time, in order to correct a mistake — persuaded me.
I’m test knitting a cabled jumper and keep making mistakes in the cables. I didn’t think to take a picture of the mistake, but these show the tinking back and the fixed cable.

Online instructions for tinking mention rewarding oneself with chocolate once one’s finished but do not mention the liberal application of swearing both upon noticing the mistake and during the tinking process!
